Fasting and Blood Pressure: My Personal Journey with Lifestyle Management

I’m working to manage my high blood pressure through lifestyle changes, and a recent Feel Better, Live More podcast with Dr Pradip Jamnadas inspired me to explore fasting more deeply. I already follow time-restricted eating, but I’m now trying 36-hour fasts, three times a week, to see if it helps. I find fasting energising, though I know it’s not for everyone. My goal is to bring my blood pressure into the normal range by Easter—if not, I’ll take the medication. Have you struggled with high blood pressure? What lifestyle changes have worked for you? One of my favourite questions for my son is, 'Tell me three things about your day'. The things he shares can be good, bad, or indifferent, but one-word answers are not allowed. Sometimes, his answers lead to further discussion; other times, they don't. Always, though, the question opens up the opportunity for us to chat. Following in that pattern, today I'm sharing with you three things about my week. I share this with the hope of inspiring curiosity, compassion, connection and conversation.
