Assessment And Treatment For Your Horse

Bookings are taken on a first come, first served basis.
Please contact Sue for availability.
We will agree and confirm a date to suit you. Times are then organised around a week beforehand. We operate a waiting list if necessary, for those who would like the option of an earlier appointment at short notice if possible.

You and Your Horse

An in-depth, thorough, consistent assessment process is key to the success of physiotherapy treatment.

As part of this, we ask that you complete the assessment form in advance with as much detail as possible, and bring it with you on the day. We really do mean as much detail as possible, so if you want to continue on a separate sheet of paper feel free! The more Sue knows about you and your horse before she starts treating, the better she’s able to tailor her treatment to suit you both.

We also ask that, if possible, you take some video footage of your horse in hand on the lunge and ridden in walk, trot, canter (and jumping if appropriate) and bring it along to your first session. Generally it works well using the camera on your phone, then Sue can look through it when she sees you.

Veterinary consent

As an ACPAT and RAMP registered Chartered Physiotherapist, Sue works with veterinary approval, in accordance with the law. She asks you to contact your vet for verbal consent to physiotherapy for your horse prior to your first treatment, and before Sue treats, she will ask you to sign to confirm that you have received this consent.

Once Sue has assessed and treated your horse for the first time, she will contact your vet for written consent for future appointments.

Written reports

You will receive a written report by email after each treatment.

This enables you to easily share the treatment report with other members of your horse’s team, such as groom, instructor, saddler, etc if you would like to do so. It also means you can look back and see how your horse has progressed.

Cancellation policy

Cancellations made less than 72hrs in advance will be charged the full cost of the appointment.

Booking an appointment is taken as acceptance of these terms and conditions.
