“The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.” Ralph Waldo Emerson
I couldn’t help but think of dad when I came across this quote. If nothing else, for the amount of litter picking he did in his local area! I’m sure litter picking comes into being honorable, compassionate, making a difference, and probably living well. Whereas littering just comes into ‘making a difference’, and not in a good way.
Anyhow, I was prompted to write this post after spending an hour or so trying to sort out a technology issue using the chat function on their website. I’ve got a subscription with Over (to help me create pretty pictures for these blogs), which has been taken over by GoDaddy. The Over app is available on my phone but not on my laptop. GoDaddy has a website. So I wondered if I would now be able to use Over on my laptop.
The short answer is yes, I can. I’d like to thank the GoDaddy staff member (I’m not sure who I was dealing with) for their patience in dealing with my very uneducated answers to their questions! I’m proud of myself for having the courage to try and figure it out, and to ask for help. There are some things that I’d rather bury my head in the sand for and simply ignore, but when it comes to IT that often means I’m losing out in some way. For some reason, I get quite stressed and anxious if I have to try and resolve an IT issue. But this time I managed to stick with it, so I’m giving myself a pat on the back.
What would you rather hide away from than get the help you need to overcome it? Do you even know where to turn to for help? Best of luck with whatever it is, keep calm and take it a breath at a time.
