I’ve missed you. I’m glad to be back, and I look forward to sharing my time with you again.
Many of you will know that I lost my dad in June, suddenly and unexpectedly. The shock and the grief are immense, and ongoing.
But dad would not want me to sit around grieving for too long. I know he’s watching over me, and I know that he would want me to make the most of life.
So, I’m back, with a fresh look to my website, and regular blog posts. I’ve been asked by my publishers to put in a proposal for another book, which I’m delighted to do. I have so many ideas, so much learning I’d like to share with you! Not only that, but I’m writing a series of articles for Horse and Rider magazine, and I’m featuring regularly in Horsemanship magazine, Western Horse magazine and the Intelligent Horsemanship magazine, among others.
Writing is a passion, and passion is important. I’d like to share with you a passage that I read at dad’s memorial service. Each day is a new day, and an opportunity to live our best life.
Success, by Bessie Anderson Stanley
“He has achieved success who has lived well, laughed often, and loved much;
who has enjoyed the trust of pure women, the respect of intelligent men and the love of little children;
who has filled his niche and accomplished his task;
who has left the world better than he found it
whether by an improved poppy, a perfect poem or a rescued soul;
who has never lacked appreciation of Earth’s beauty or failed to express it;
who has always looked for the best in others and given them the best he had;
whose life was an inspiration;
whose memory a benediction.”
