“I have never been bored an hour in my life. I get up every morning wondering what new strange glamorous thing is going to happen and it happens at fairly regular intervals. Lady Luck has been good to me and I fancy she has been good to everyone. Only some people are dour, and when she gives them the come hither with her eyes, they look down or turn away and lift an eyebrow. But me, I give her the wink and away we go.” William Allen White
How lucky am I to do the job that I do?! I recently treated two horses, both of whom are working towards Grand Prix level dressage at home, and aiming to compete at that level next year. For those of you who aren’t into dressage, that’s right at the top. Two different yards, two different owners. Two different horses yet both working at such a high level. And I have the privilege of helping them to improve their athleticism, to reduce any niggles of discomfort, and to offer the owners advice on how to help their horse achieve his very best.
I learn so much from every horse, every owner, and every rider. I love working with all horses, from foal to retired, from happy hacker to top competition horse. I get to help riders to achieve their dreams, on a daily basis. How lucky am I?!
